OBITUARY: Darla Raye Poulson, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M. since 1963 and a longtime, Sanford, Colo. resident, passed away Sat., May 3, 2008 as a result of an auto accident. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Poulson, of Albuquerque; children Michael (Simone) Poulson of Mesa, Ariz. Paula (Lance) Calander of El Paso, Texas, Ronald (Holly) Poulson of Jemez Springs, N.M. and Richard (Kim) Poulson of Smithfield, Utah; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Tom (LuAnn) Crowther of Sandy, Utah, Marlene (Mark) Crowther of Sanford and Keith (Lorrie) Crowther of Sanford as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and many friends. Darla Raye was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Q and Verla (Bagwell) Crowther and her sister Loreen ‘Jo' Simpson. She was born on Aug. 9, 1939 in Manassa, Colo. and graduated from Sanford High School. Darla Raye and Robert Poulson were married in the Salt Lake Temple in August of 1957. After settling in Albuquerque she worked as a bookkeeper and legal secretary. She retired in 2006. Darla Raye was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, making candy and more than anything, spending time with her family. Darla Raye was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, El Dorado Ward, 4109 Eubank Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, Mon., May 12, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Viewing will be from 1 until 2 p.m. in the Relief Society Room at the church. Life's Work/Service/Interests: Emma met her husband, Paul Burgis Larsen, when a friend, Marlene Nielsen, set them up on a date. A short two months later they were married, enjoying 54 years together. They loved spending time with their four children working, camping, boating and traveling. Emma graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended Brigham Young University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Education. She taught school for 25 years in many different assignments, including home economics, English and TLC (technology, life and careers). She loved working with people and made friends wherever she went. She sat on the library board, worked as a Pink Lady, was a member of the Quilting Guild and a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. Emma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings including Young Women President, Primary Chorister and Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, handcrafts, shopping and her grandchildren. Emma Del Banks Larsen died in her home in Spanish Fork September 4, 2014 from natural causes. He was born March 4, 1912, at Lindon, Utah, the son of Daniel Franchin and Leonore Rees Hansen. He married Grace Roholt February 9, 1934, at Soda Springs. While living in the Grace area he farmed. He had worked at Douglas Aircraft, Fox Studio, Warner Brothers, Columbia and Disney Studios. He was raised and educated in the Grace area. Melvin had lived at Lindon, Utah, Grace and Bancroft, Idaho, moving to Gardena, California, in 1955, and Pahrump, Nevada, in 1998, where he had since resided. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife, Grace, of Pahrump, Nev.; four sons and six daughters and their spouses, Monty Hansen, Anacortes, Wash., Deon and Beverly Hansen, Las Vegas, Nev., Terry and Tomiko Hansen, Albuquerque, N.M., Roy and Jill Hansen, Downey, Idaho, Sharon and McKay Bateman, Pahrump, Nev., Meljean and Dave Witten, Pahrump, Nev., Lillian Brodway, Huntington Beach, Calif., Marie and Gary Miller, Grace, Idaho, Lynn Champion, San Jacinto, Calif., and Betty and Ned Maxwell, Bancroft, Idaho. She worked for many years at the sewing factory in Spanish Fork and at Brigham Young University in the Morris Center Cafeteria where she loved working with the students. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities in the ward and stake. She is fondly remembered for her wonderful cookies, bread, preserves and quilts. She loved gardening, travel, camping and picnics with family and friends. He was born on November 1, 1925 in Sanford, Colorado to Alma Leroy Crowther and Sarah Iva Brothers Crowther. Everet was married and sealed to Lois Jean Mayfield on September 6, 1949 at the Manti Temple. Everet ran his own plumbing business and was a Master Plumber, holding the oldest active plumbing license in the state of Colorado. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching the Denver Broncos and keeping up with all of the local valley athletics teams. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. Everet was very active in the L.D.S. Church and held many callings. He was past president of the young men’s group, stake missionary group and the High Priest group. As a young man, Everet served in the Southern States Mission. He and Lois later served a mission together in Seeley Lake, Montana.
