Paul was born in Spanish Fork to Joseph Burgis and Gladys Davis Larsen. Paul is married to Emma Del Banks Larsen who resides in Spanish Fork. Paul served in the Korean War. He was educated in Spanish Fork and received a teaching degree at Brigham Young University. Paul was a contractor most of his life, but later went on to work for Spanish Fork City as their building inspector. Survivors include his wife Emma Del, Children, Penny (Sifa), Julie (Lance), Lori (Sterling), Mark (Stephanie), Grandchildren and one Great Grandson. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Spanish Fork 3rd Ward building, 630 W 400 N. A short service will be held following the viewing from 11:00 to 11:30a.m. in the same building. Interment will immediately follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. | 13214 | Birth: Apr. 3, 1932 Spanish Fork Utah County Utah, USA Death: Oct. 23, 2013 VETERAN KOREAN WAR On October 23, 2013, Ralph Lee Woodhouse, Junior, a truly unique and good man; our beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away from a heart-related disease. Born on August 3, 1932, in Spanish Fork, Utah to Thomas Ralph and Mary Davis Woodhouse, he was the oldest of six sons and one daughter. He grew up in Spanish Fork and graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended BYU for two and a half years, studying English. He met Helen JoAnne Littlefield at a dance in Provo, Utah. They fell in love and were married and sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 23, 1954. They had 3 children. Ralph never remarried after his dear wife passed away in 1991. He was a strong, accepting person and a powerful presence and force of love in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Fish, as he was known by many people, was well known in the community. Many friends, family, and acquaintances benefited from his routine daily visits. He was always willing to help others. Many people in town will miss his expertise in lawn mower and boat engine repair. Repeatedly were the times he would stop to help strangers broken down on the roadside. His commitment to and care of his family has had a great impact and will resonate for generations. His daily care-taking of his father, in his later years, and his care of his brother, in his final year, were defining examples of his quiet dedication and way of caring for others. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a voracious reader. He loved carpentry and woodworking. He built his own camper and many other unique things for his kids, grandkids, and neighbors. In 1949, at the age of seventeen, he joined the Utah Army National Guard. He was a Master Gunnery Sergeant and was in country during the Korean War in 1952. He was honorably discharged from the Reserves in 1965. He worked at U.S Steel for eight years, Auto Parts and Equipment Company for fourteen years, and worked with his father and brothers at Spanish Fork Flying Service for over twenty-five years. He held special aviation certifications in airframe, aircraft power plants, and certain turbo and jet engines. He was especially trained and certified in specific airframe technics not often found outside the major commercial aircraft industry. This allowed him to perform complete rebuilds of aircraft. He assisted the Federal Aviation Administrations, along with his brothers, in performing multiple aircraft accidents and recovery. He was one of a few practitioners of hand fabricating wood and metal airplane components and installation of treated fabric aircraft surfaces, a slowly dying art. He is survived by three children: Eric Ralph (Wendy K.) Woodhouse, Deming New Mexico; Kristy Woodhouse Perry, Spanish Fork, Utah; Wendy Woodhouse Lyon, Spanish Fork, Utah; one sister and four brothers: Mary Carol Woodhouse Canfield, North Oden, Utah; Joe and Linda Woodhouse, Boise, Idaho; Ted and Marcille Woodhouse, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Tom and Judy Woodhouse, Spanish Fork, Utah; Rex and Janice Woodhouse, Spanish Fork, Utah. He enjoyed the love and company of his ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen JoAnne Littlefield Woodhouse; his parents Thomas Ralph and Mary Davis Woodhouse; and his brother Allen Woodhouse. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel on 761 East 400 North, Spanish Fork. They loved spending time with their four children working, camping, boating and traveling. Emma graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended Brigham Young University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Education. She taught school for 25 years in many different assignments, including home economics, English and TLC (technology, life and careers). She loved working with people and made friends wherever she went. She sat on the library board, worked as a Pink Lady, was a member of the Quilting Guild and a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. Emma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings including Young Women President, Primary Chorister and Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, handcrafts, shopping and her grandchildren. Emma Del Banks Larsen died in her home in Spanish Fork September 4, 2014 from natural causes. He was born March 4, 1912, at Lindon, Utah, the son of Daniel Franchin and Leonore Rees Hansen. He married Grace Roholt February 9, 1934, at Soda Springs. While living in the Grace area he farmed. He had worked at Douglas Aircraft, Fox Studio, Warner Brothers, Columbia and Disney Studios. He was raised and educated in the Grace area. Melvin had lived at Lindon, Utah, Grace and Bancroft, Idaho, moving to Gardena, California, in 1955, and Pahrump, Nevada, in 1998, where he had since resided. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is fondly remembered for her wonderful cookies, bread, preserves and quilts. She loved gardening, travel, camping and picnics with family and friends. He was born on November 1, 1925 in Sanford, Colorado to Alma Leroy Crowther and Sarah Iva Brothers Crowther. Everet was married and sealed to Lois Jean Mayfield on September 6, 1949 at the Manti Temple. Everet ran his own plumbing business and was a Master Plumber, holding the oldest active plumbing license in the state of Colorado. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching the Denver Broncos and keeping up with all of the local valley athletics teams. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. Everet was very active in the L.D.S. Church and held many callings. He was past president of the young men’s group, stake missionary group and the High Priest group. As a young man, Everet served in the Southern States Mission. He and Lois later served a mission together in Seeley Lake, Montana. Everet is survived by his children; Dale Crowther of Sanford, Sharon (Terry) DePriest of Manassa, Rick (Jill) Crowther of Brigham City, Utah, Trish (Steve) Maes of Carlsbad, California, Garth (Tracey) Crowther of Bountiful, Tom (Mickie) Crowther of Centralia, Kansas, Shawn (Kandice) Crowther of Yokosuka, Japan and Corey (Amy) Crowther of Sanford, 31 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren as well as his siblings; Norman (Coleen) Crowther, Quintin Crowther, Clela Shawcroft and Delora Fox as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, his parents, his brothers; Elwin, Merrill and Willard Crowther, one grandson and one daughter in law. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at the Sanford 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A visitation will be held from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm Monday August 25, 2014 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa and from 10:00 am- 10:45 am prior to the service on Tuesday in the Sanford Relief Society room at the church. Elwin was a member of the Sanford First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as a home teacher for many years. He farmed his whole life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the out of doors, and wood hauling. He is survived by his brothers Quinten R. Crowther, Everet (Lois) Crowther and Norman (Colleen) Crowther all of Sanford; sisters Clella Shawcroft of Alamosa, Colo., De Lora Fox of West Covina, Calif. as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Elwin was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Merril and Willard Crowther. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., Feb. 13, 2009 at the Sanford First Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow in the Sanford Cemetery. Visitation will be Thur., Feb. 12, 2009 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa, Colo. and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the Relief Society Room of the Church.
