Herbert Peterson of Chesterfield, VA, died on December 2, 2018 at 89. He was born in Norge, VA, June 14, 1929, and attended school in Toano, VA, and Waldrof Lutheran School in Forest City, Iowa, graduating in 1946. During the Korean conflict he served in the Air National Guard and the Air Force. As a veteran, he received a teaching degree from VPI in Blacksburg in 1960. He taught in the Electrical Dept. at the Newport News Shipyard Apprentice School and taught house wiring at Chesterfield Technical Center, retiring from there in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Louis and Jack. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances, daughter Deborah Brunette of Chesterfield, son Daniel (Mary Beth) of Newton, AL, granddaughter Kristina Haley (Patrick) of Bon Air, and beloved great granddaughter Lillian Haley.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 2 PM at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 9601 Hull Street. Rd. North Chesterfield, VA 23836. Family visitation will be at the church Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM. A reception will follow the service in the fellowship wing.
