  Obituary Mr. Calvin K. “Cal” Sorensen, age 78, of Briar Hill Drive, formerly of Parkland Ave., Lynn, died Thursday at Kindred Care, Peabody, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Aletta (Perkins) Sorensen, his wife of over 50 years. Born and raised in Lake Benton, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Carl M. and Sophie (Pederson) Sorensen. He had lived in Lynn, since 1955. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1951 thru 1955. Mr. Sorensen was a retired union plumber with Local 12, Boston. He had also previously worked for Russo Plumbing and the GE Company. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons; Wayne C. Sorensen, and his wife Nancy of Lynn, Scott K. Sorensen, and his wife Sharon of Derry New Hampshire, 1 brother James Sorensen, of Lake Benton Minnesota, 1 sister Patricia Newell, of Iowa, 5 grandchildren; Corey Sorensen, of Derry, Nicole Sorensen, of Derry, Kyle Sorensen, of Lynn, Travis Sorensen, of Lynn, and Scotty Sorensen, of Derry, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11am in the Solimine Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129) followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
